OEM Information

Build or buy…it’s a question that many guitar builders face each and every day. Should I make the investments in a CNC machine or a small router? What about saws and drill presses? Sanding? Oh, better add dust filtration to the mix…shoot, just asking the questions can become daunting.

Now let’s assume that you decide to outsource your bodies and necks. Now you have another set of questions, the biggest of which is “WHO?”

There are quite a few of us here in the US that do what we do, but very few are actually willing to work with small to medium sized builders. Those that do treat you like just another customer; no customer service, no ability to visit the facility, no potential for discounts. In other words, if we have it you can buy it, but don’t expect anything else.

This is where USA Custom Guitars is different. Our customer service is second to none, our quality is second to none and our support of the small to mid-range builder is second to none. If we could list the brands that we supply today you would immediately understand who we are, and what we deliver.

You want us to treat YOUR brand as if it were OUR brand. You want to build guitars, and you want the highest American made quality you can get, made by a team with over 100 years of experience without the machinery and staffing investment it takes.

Well, that’s what we do. That’s who we are.

Spend your time putting them together and making them sing… count on us to deliver the best tone woods and neck work money can buy.  You want the best, we deliver the best…and even better, no one has to know we built it. We don’t slam our name all over it and force feed it to you. We won’t even mention your name if you don’t want us to.  Can’t complain about that lol!

OEM Services, am I qualified?

As long as you have a valid business license/Tax ID, and a website or social media presence and are in the business of building guitars you are qualified. From there it’s just determining what size you are so we know how to best serve you.

For the typical small to mid-sized builder. If you find yourself ordering 2-4 pieces at a time,
inconsistently, this is you!

Other things that might indicate that you are in this category:

 Uses traditional body shapes
 Ability to hand cut your peghead shape out of one of ours
 Doesn’t require extensive programming
 May order in a more unfinished state than a retail customer (no frets, no inlays etc.)

Discounts still offered, but of course, they can’t be as much as if you were ordering in higher quantities

 < 4 pieces – 5% discount, each order
 ≥ 4 pieces – 10% discount, each order
 At the end of every year, we look at your orders and see if you qualify for deeper discounts for the coming year.

You also get a few other extra’s as well such as:

 Sneak peek on limited availability wood offerings
 DEDICATED OEM Machine Time
 Custom programming available at a discounted hourly rate
 PRIVACY. We don’t reveal our OEM clients so you can feel safe that how you decide to run your business stays safe with us.

How do you know if this is you….well you just know! Our large OEM clients generally place orders of 10 or more at a time and place those orders consistently, most times numbering in the hundreds annually.

While they may also use traditional body shapes, they many times have custom programming done for very specific body shapes, hardware, and headstock shapes. This programming may be done in-house or may be handled by USACG, both of which we can accommodate.

Our large Run OEM clients enjoy the following:

 20% discount on all orders.
 Deeper dive on shipping options for larger orders.
 Sneak peek on limited availability wood offerings.
 PRIORITY OEM Machine Time
 Custom programming either a flat rate or no fees based on order quantity
 PRIVACY. We don’t reveal our OEM clients so you can feel safe that how you decide to run your business stays safe with us.

Whichever category you fall into you can rest assured that we try to fit into your processes as seamlessly as we possibly can and proved the best service possible. If you have any more questions about these services please email us at sales@usacustomguitars.com for more details.
